The 2017/18 Bundesliga season preview

The 2017/18 Bundesliga season will mark the 55th anniversary of the top German football league. In this season, VfB Stuttgart and Hannover 96 were promoted from the 2. Bundesliga, replacing FC Ingolstadt and Darmstadt 98 which were relegated.

Bundesliga transfers update

After two years at Bayer Leverkusen, Javier ‘Chicharito Hernandez has returned to English Premier League, this time with West Ham.

Eintracht Frankfurt fans will have a powerful left-back to cheer on season 2017/18 following Jetro Willems‘ arrival from PSV Eindhoven.

Spanish U21 international centre-back Jorge Mere signed to Cologne on a five-year deal. The defender, signed from Sporting Gijon, played every minute in four of Spain’s five matches at the U21 European Championships this summer.

VfB Stuttgart have boosted their ranks by signing left-back Ailton Ferreira Silva from Portuguese club Estoril Praia. Silva has signed a four-year contract until 2021 and has been given the squad number 29.

Portugal U19 international Joao Querios has joined Cologne.

Schalke 04 have moved quickly to replace the Arsenal-bound Sead Kolasinac, signing left-back Bastian Oczipka on a 3 year contract from Eintracht Frankfurt.

SC Freiburg have signed 20-year-old midfielder Bartosz Kapustka on a one-year loan from English Premier League side Leicester City. The Black Forest outfit also possess the option to make the deal permanent after 12 months.

Mainz have secured the services of France U-21 captain Abdou Diallo on a five-year deal from AS Monaco.
