Premier League first round tips:

Arsenal-Leicester: Bet Leicester (fair odds 6.05, available 8.50-9.00)

Arsenal and Leicester open the Premier League 2017/2018 season at Friday evening 11th of August. Gunners are very likely winners, but not nearly as likely as the market suggests. Gunners failed miserably last season and they haven’t become significantly stronger either. New striker signing Lacazette could turn out to be good, but on the other hand key forward Alexis Sanches might be on his way out. Leicester had also a difficult campaign, which turned much better after Claudio Ranieri was sacked in February. Foxes haven’t lost any of their key players and signed midfielder Vicente Iborra in order to finally replace N’Golo Kante, whose absence ruined the previous campaign. Leicester odds are way too high in the season opener. They have a nice chance to surprise Arsenal here.

Southampton-Swansea: Bet U2,5 goals (fair odds 1.75, available 1.85-1.90)

Southampton had a pretty quiet campaign last season and Saints finished eventually to 8th place. In truth they were far behind from the top clubs, since the gap to 7th placed Everton was 15 points. Saints have been one of the lowest match total teams for long time and this has been traditionally due to their solid defense. Last season they conceded 19 goals less than 9th placed Bournemouth for example. They are also clearly lacking a solid goal scorer and a provider in midfield. Visitors Swansea had a very turbulent season. At one point they looked certain to go down to Championship, but signing Paul Clement as head coach in the middle of the season saved them. He also improved Swansea defense dramatically and eventually saved them from relegation. During this proces the total goals in Swansea matches crashed down. Swans should continue playing low-scoring results and Southampton is a nice match-up. The match is more under than the market suggests.
